Common questions
How do I turn Pro on after buying?
Your key arrives by email from Polar. In VS Code press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P, run Boardpane: Enter Pro licence key and paste it. Pro switches on immediately — no restart, no account.
Is it really one-time? Does the key expire?
Yes and no. $19 once; the key never expires and includes every future update to Boardpane. There is no subscription to cancel.
How many machines can I use it on?
All of yours — laptop, desktop, VS Code, Cursor, whatever you use. The key is per person, not per machine, so just paste it again on the new one.
Does Pro need an internet connection?
Only now and then. Boardpane re-checks your key with Polar about once a day; if it can't reach Polar it keeps Pro switched on for 14 days. Past that, Pro features wait until the next successful check.
Buying for a team?
Pro is per person: $19 for each developer. If you need one invoice for several seats, email support@boardpane.com.
Can I get a refund?
Within 14 days, no questions asked. Email support@boardpane.com from the address you bought with. Full policy: /refund.
Boardpane says it can't sign in at all — not even with a PAT
Some IT departments block both Personal Access Tokens and the Microsoft sign-in (which needs a consented app) org-wide. If neither works, Boardpane can't reach your organisation from either route — ask an Azure DevOps administrator to allow one of them.
Who handles my card details?
Polar, the merchant of record. Boardpane never sees your card, and the extension only contacts Polar to check that your key is valid. It has no server of its own and sends no telemetry.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes — attached to the confirmation email, with VAT/tax handled by Polar. Lost it? Every receipt is in the purchase portal.
